Aged Care Shopping Visits
Colours of Home is proud to collaborate with aged care management teams to create smooth and enjoyable onsite shopping experiences for residents. By partnering with us, facilities can help create small but meaningful opportunities for residents to feel a little more empowered, connected, and engaged with their apparel choices while enjoying a practical and thoughtful service.
Flexible Scheduling
- Seasonal Visits: We coordinate visits around four times a year, aligning with seasonal wardrobe needs and fitting in with the home's availability
- Setup Made Simple: All we need is a communal space where we can set up a table and a few display racks, and we’ll handle the rest!
Resident Involvement
We collaborate with staff to encourage resident participation on the day to make it an inclusive and enjoyable activity for all.
Sizing and general preferences can also be confirmed ahead of time, ensuring we bring relevant items with us on the day.
Family Invitations
Facilities can notify families about upcoming COH visits via posters, newsletters, or emails. We are happy to help with the communication and outreach process as well by inviting family or loved ones to join our mailing list for regular updates.
Year-Round Shopping Access (coming soon)
Residents can browse and order from our online store anytime, ensuring they’re not limited to in-person visits
Why Residents Love Colours of Home
Encourages Participation In Decision Making
We aim to support residents in making or contributing to their own clothing choices and styling decisions wherever possible. This can help foster a sense of control and personal agency wherever practical and may offer a comforting sense of self-direction.
Relieves Boredom
Our visits offer more than just clothing - they can also provide an enjoyable, sensory activity that can help break the monotony of daily life in aged care. They offer something to look forward to and may serve as a memorable experience to reflect on.
Clothing Comfort and Safety
We offer thoughtfully chosen apparel to balance comfort, practicality, safety and style, taking into account wear, durability and simplying care for hasslefree laundry.
Affordable Shopping Choices
Our inventory is sourced from ethical, local providers. We keep our costs down by securing the best commercial relationships with our suppliers, and we also utilise quality 'worn once' stock via our stakeholder and retail channels.
Personalised Name Tags
- Name tags are available on all new pre-purchased items. If requested at the point of order/sale, delivered goods will come with the tags pre-applied
- Residents may also order name tags for their existing clothing. Once an order is submitted, the name tags will be delivered ready for application.
FAMILY PARTICIPATION IS WELCOME!
Family and loved ones can schedule our shopping visit dates into their diary to use this activity as a special opportunity to enjoy spending time together.
Pre-Arranged Preferences
With the assistance of family or care home staff, residents can request pre-selected items, including size, colour, or garment type, which we can bring on our next visit. We will accommodate custom requests whenever possible, as long as they fall within our existing stock ranges. (Customers will soon be able to order directly from our site once our online store is active).
Convenient credit card or cash payment options are available onsite
Clothing has an amazing capacity to evoke cherished memories and can help facilitate sensory stimulation.
By offering a range of colours, textures, and designs, we help residents potentially reconnect with their past or reflect on special memories or moments in time. This can be comforting to an elderly person and may help to enhance well-being by nurturing recollections or connections from the past.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available for purchase from our site. Perfect for birthdays, holidays, or just to let a resident know you are thinking of them. Vouchers can be redeemed during facility visits or on our upcoming online store.
Custom Name Tags
Personalised name tags are available on all preordered items to ensure your items are ready for easy laundry management and identification needs. Name tags are also available for existing apparel and will be delivered ready for self-application.
OUR MISSION
Our aim is simple: To empower Aged Care residents to embrace their uniqueness, share their feelings, and maintain their dignity in decision-making wherever possible.

- Dignity: We respect every resident’s right to make choices about how they present themselves
- Comfort and Practicality: All of our clothing is selected with comfort, safety, and ease of wear in mind
